Dr. Schmitt has had an authentic interest in understanding community and culture. She published two books with Arcadia Publishing & The History Press, New Orleans Voodoo: A Cultural History (January 2019) and Navajo and Hopi Art in Arizona: Continuing Traditions (February 2016).
